Sarah Otazo
FNTP, Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner & Nutrigenomics Coach
Sarah is proud to have achieved certification through the Nutritional Therapy Association as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She is also a licensed RESTARTⓇ instructor, a Lifecode Gx practitioner, and a Winter 2020 candidate for certification as an Apeiron Epigenetics Human Performance Coach.
Sarah believes that nutrition’s profound effect on our health cannot be overstated. Consider that every cell of every tissue of every organ of every system in our body initially forms and performs its function until turning into waste and being eliminated, in a repeating cycle over the course of a lifetime. This is possible solely by assimilating the nutrients from what we eat and drink, and the air we breathe. Thus, it’s not necessarily the full story to say that we are what we eat - rather. we are what we ingest, absorb and utilize. The better we fuel and care for ourselves, the better function we can expect.
In fact, the way we fuel ourselves has quite an effect on whether or not a particular gene gets expressed or suppressed. Delving into the work of epigenetics - the study of how lifestyle and environment support or suppress gene expression, and of nutrigenomics - the science of fueling the body to support positive mental and physical health outcomes, has helped Sarah further refine her work with clients.
Sarah has a practice for both local and remote clients in New York and in London, helping them identify and remove their personal dietary stressors, and identify and address their unique nutritional deficiencies. Bringing the body back into balance in this way can make truly profound improvements in physical and mental health. By utilizing a number of data collection and assessment tools, including genetic testing, she works with them to create a customized, bio-individual plan, and then coaches them through that plan to help them achieve success.
Prior to starting her functional nutrition and nutrigenomics training and opening her practice, Sarah had a successful career in finance at a major Wall Street broker dealer. She is grateful to be sharing her knowledge and educating clients about the opportunities to optimize health through nutrition and lifestyle management.
